This CD is a hidden gem for all lovers of traditional Jazz & Swing music, transporting you to the era of Harlem Stride Piano and the beginnings of traditional Swing.
The Tyrolean jazz legend Artur Rogger, born on 18/02/1928, began classical piano lessons at the age of 12. During World War II, he listened to many records and performed as a student with popular German hits at events.
In 1951/52, he came into contact with Fatty George and Oskar Klein and gained experience in jam sessions.
He then became the pianist for the Studio-Combo Herbert Müller and numerous performances followed, both solo and with a band.
In recent times, he often played with Tyrol’s jazz greats Werner Birchner, Joshi Binder, Christoph Steinbach, Costa Stefan, Wegscheider Christian, Florian Bramböck, and Clemens Ebenbichler, and most recently had regular performances at the concerts of his granddaughter Katharina Alber.
