Boogie-Woogie Piano
Dear Boogie Woogie & Blues fans, dear friends! I am glad that you visit my website. Feel free to look around at your leisure! For all questions, bookings or other wishes I am of course always available.
In any case, I would like to introduce myself briefly to you: My name is Katharina Alber. I discovered my love for music at the age of 5, when I started taking piano lessons at the music school. As the granddaughter of the Innsbruck jazz legend on the piano, Artur Rogger, I gained an early insight into the jazz scene. Since I am very enthusiastic about instruments, I later learned the clarinet and saxophone to make music together with my grandpa.
At the age of 20 I met the Tyrolean Boogie Woogie pianist Robert Roth and started taking lessons with him. The Boogie Woogie, especially known as dance, had me immediately under its spell.
Boogie Woogie awakens life and lust for life in everyone, has a lot of emotion and brings zest into everyday life. I attend the Robert Roth Boogie Festival every year and have had the opportunity to play there with international stars of the music scene.
“Based on these great experiences, I decided to start my own Boogie and Jazz Festival in 2015. Since then I have been working as a musician and promoter all over the world, living my dream. Joie de vivre, enthusiasm, passion & fun are at the forefront and are intended to provide happy and unforgettable hours for all spectators.”

“Boogie Woogie is a style of music that brings people together from all over the world to sing and dance.
Boogie Woogie has emotion, carries the listener away and brings momentum into everyday life.
For me, the greatest thing is sitting at the piano and watching the audience enthusiastically clap and tap their feet to the music as I let the sounds of the boogie ring out.”

Already as a small child my grandfather Artur Rogger fascinated me with his style of playing the piano. Being a firm and legendary figure in Tyrolean jazz, he taught me to play the piano already in my younger years. Artur accompanied me in my first attempts on the piano and still plays with me on many performances ( e.g. my festival, Jazz live at the Gritsch ).
In my later years with already acquired experience in piano playing a more coincidental meeting with the Tyrolean star boogie pianist Robert Roth brought the final decision to dedicate my own piano playing to the Texan style boogie-woogie from now on.
Ever since I was a little girl, it was my dream to stand on stage and present my own event one day.

Boogie Woogie, known primarily as a dance, had me under its spell immediately.
Since almost every boogie pianist organizes his own festival and invites pianists from all over the world once a year, I decided 2 years later to start my own festival, “Kathi’s Boogie and Jazz Festival”.
The festival should become a meeting place for all music lovers of all ages and provide happy hours for all visitors.
