I simply have to share my experiences from the 51st Dixieland Festival in Dresden with you. From 19th to 21st May 2023, I was part of this incredible event, and it was an absolute highlight of my musical career.
Dixieland Festival Dresden: An Overview of the Grand Music Spectacle
First of all: the Dixieland Festival Dresden is huge! With numerous international artists and countless stages, it offered a breathtaking variety of music. It was an honour and a great joy to share the stage with so many talented musicians and to make new acquaintances.
I had the pleasure of performing at various locations: at the airport, on the Jazzmeile, at the train station, and in the Junge Garde. Each place had its own charm, and everywhere I encountered countless enthusiastic listeners. The friendly atmosphere in Dresden captivated me immediately.
A Special Highlight with Andreas Bock on Drums
A special highlight for me was the invitation to have Andreas Bock accompany me on drums. His musical accompaniment added a special touch to my performance and delighted both me and the audience.
Impressive Festival Organisation: A Look Behind the Scenes
I was impressed by the organisation of the festival. Each band and musician had their own coordinators and tour buses, ensuring a smooth process. This allowed me to focus entirely on my performances.
Versatility of the Festival: More Than Just Dixieland Music
What particularly impressed me: the Dixieland Festival Dresden is not limited to Dixieland music. It was a joy to see Boogie, Blues, Swing, and Jazz equally celebrated. This versatility makes the festival so unique and attracts many tourists year after year.
Unforgettable Experience: More Than Just a Performance
The city of Dresden itself also deeply impressed me. The beautiful historic buildings and the charming atmosphere of the city provide a perfect backdrop for a music festival of this size.
I sincerely hope I have the opportunity to perform there again in the future. It was not just a performance, it was an experience I will cherish forever.
