There are moments that remain forever etched in the heart. Our performance at the Boogie, Blues & Folknächte Festival in Hohwacht on the Baltic Sea on 2 August 2023 was exactly such a moment. As a solo artist, I have experienced many international festivals, but this performance was our first joint international gig as the band “Boogie Kathi & the muddy Bluesmen”.
Debut in Hohwacht: Boogie Kathi & the muddy Bluesmen conquer the Baltic Sea stage
Hohwacht, a picturesque place on the Baltic Sea, was the perfect setting for our debut. It was my first time there, and I was immediately captivated by the beauty of the beaches and the peaceful atmosphere. The festival, which spans several months, is a mecca for lovers of blues and boogie, with regular performances by greats like Abi Wallenstein, Axel Zwingenberger, and many more.
A festival, a tent, a dream: Boogie Kathi’s performance in the circus tent of Hohwacht
Our performance was planned as an open-air event, but the weather had other plans. Thanks to a rain shower, we were lucky enough to move into a circus tent. For me personally, it was a magical moment. Since childhood, I have loved the circus, and now, standing and playing in the ring was a real highlight.
The energy of the audience was electrifying. Every single guest was engaged, dancing and celebrating with us, so our planned 2-hour performance impressively extended to 3.5 hours.
A special thanks goes to the wonderful organiser, a soul of a person, whose passion and dedication made such a great festival possible. Her work and commitment made this event an unforgettable experience.

And the best is yet to come: We have already been invited back for the festival in 2024! We are incredibly excited to be back on this wonderful stage on 3 August 2024.
Our performance in Hohwacht was more than just a concert. It was a confirmation of our passion and cohesion as a band. A special thanks goes to our fantastic drummer, Andreas Bock, who rocked the stage with us. His energy and talent have taken our sound to a new level.
In conclusion, I would like to say that our time in Hohwacht, surrounded by incredibly friendly people and great friends, was a true enrichment. We are grateful for this experience and can hardly wait to return in the summer.
