Between Passion and Responsibility
The Inner State as a Musician, Promoter, and Band Leader:
Music is my life – it is my expression, my source of energy, and my way to touch people. But for me, it’s not just about playing myself. I’ve set myself another task: I want to carry on the legacy of Boogie Woogie and Blues. This music has a long history, it’s captivating, emotional, and lively – and I see it as my mission to bring it to the stage and share it with the audience.
But besides music, there is a second great passion in my life: promoting. And a third, equally challenging one: leading a band.
Each of these roles is enriching, but they also come with responsibility.
Boogie Woogie & Blues – The Music That Drives Me
When I play Boogie Woogie and Blues, I immediately feel the special magic of this music. It tells stories, makes people dance, and evokes emotions. It’s not just a genre – it’s a movement, a way of life.
I love being on stage, thrilling the audience, and letting the rhythm flow into the room. But my task doesn’t end there. As a promoter, I also want to create a stage for other artists, support this music scene, and help it continue to thrive.
The Challenges as a Promoter – Between Passion and Responsibility
Putting on an event is always a balancing act. The biggest challenge is to bring music and organization together.
The Beautiful Sides of Promoting:
– I can bring artists and audiences together.
– I can present exactly the music that is close to my heart.
– I create special moments and experiences for others.
– It fulfills me when an evening goes perfectly, and the guests go home happy.
The Challenges:
– There are organizational challenges (cancellations, technical problems, unexpected complications).
– The financial pressure is always there – is the evening worth it?
– I have less time for my own music because I have to organize so much.
– I have to remain professional, even when things go wrong or people are unreliable.
There are stressful days when I ask myself why I do this. But when I see the audience getting involved and artists expressing their gratitude, I know again: It’s worth it.
The Role as a Band Leader – Music, Humanity, and Decisions
Leading a band is a whole different challenge. Music is not just technique, timing, and harmony – it’s also an interpersonal experience.
The Beautiful Sides of Being a Band Leader:
– I can realize my musical visions.
– I am part of a community that grows together.
– I can motivate and inspire my band.
– It’s an incredible feeling when a band harmonizes perfectly.
The Challenges:
– You often have to make decisions that not everyone will like.
– Personal friendships must not be placed above the music – the professional must take precedence.
– There are conflicts in every band – different opinions, expectations, and ideas.
– You have to constantly adapt to new people because musicians come and go.
Especially the last point is not easy. A band is like a family – and when someone leaves the group, it often feels like a break. But I’ve learned: It always goes on.
Being a band leader means sometimes making tough decisions. Not for me, but for the music, for the sound, for the bigger picture. And when a concert goes perfectly in the end, then I know: It was worth it.
Why I Keep Going – Because the Music Matters
Despite all the challenges, I can’t imagine stopping. Because when the first notes play, when the energy fills the room, when the audience claps, dances, and laughs – then I know why I do all this.
Boogie Woogie and Blues are more than just music genres. They are a way of life. They connect people. And as long as this music is played, as long as it moves people, I will carry it forward – as a musician, as an organiser, as a bandleader.
Because no matter what challenges there are – it is the music that remains in the end, that connects, excites, and moves. As long as the Boogie rolls and the Blues sings, I will continue – with passion, heart, and full dedication.
